US Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs
US Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) is working with IFAW and local partners to prevent wildlife trafficking in Kenya, Uganda and the DRC. In August 2020, INL started funding two major programs: ‘Countering Wildlife Trafficking in Kenya’ and ‘Capacity Building to Stop the Poaching and Trafficking of Protected Wildlife between Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)’.
These projects aim to reduce poaching and trafficking of wildlife species and their products by strengthening transboundary collaboration, building investigative, operational and prosecutorial capacities of law enforcement and judiciary agencies, and engaging community members in information gathering in protected areas.
