Established in 1964, JCDecaux pioneered the street furniture concept and is today leading worldwide outdoor advertising company. JCDecaux entered into China market in 2005. The Company’s businesses now span in 12 cities across China, including Hong Kong and Macau, focusing on metro, bus, airport and bus shelter media, providing a comprehensive and diverse range of advertising media products and services to help customers reach 171 million China urban population each day.
Since 2008, with support from JCDecaux China, IFAW has displayed different themes of OOH PSAs in the subways, bus-bodies and airports of seven cities, from Northern to Southern China, to promote responsible pet ownership, and educate public not to consume illegal wildlife products. Take IFAW's Mom, I got teeth campaign as an example to show the impact we achieved together with JCDecaux China, after running the PSA for five years, IFAW commissioned a third party named Rapid Asia to evaluate the campaign. We found ‘Mom, I got teeth’ PSA had penetrated the urban Chinese population by 75% and reduced the propensity of the group of the people most likely to purchase ivory from 54% to 26%.
