Leonard Joel hosts online art auction to benefit ifaw
For more than two years, IFAW and leading Australian auction house, Leonard Joel, have collaborated to create a voluntary policy to cease auction trade in elephant ivory and rhinoceros horn.
In celebration of the recent announcement that Australia will ban the domestic trade of ivory and rhino horn, Leonard Joel is hosting an Art for IFAW Online Auction, along with an event in Melbourne to mark his centenary and IFAW's fiftieth anniversary.
The online auction will feature ten works of art, generously donated by artist and gallery friends of Leonard Joel. It will open for bidding on Thursday 12 September and close on 22 September. Leonard Joel will waive all fees for this auction and 100% of proceeds will be donated to IFAW.
IFAW is grateful for the ongoing partnership with John Albrecht, Managing Director of Leonard Joel, and wishes to acknowledge the following artists and galleries, who have generously donated their work to benefit IFAW: Charles Nodrum Gallery, Fletcher Arts, Fox Galleries, Gillie and Marc Schattner, Herman Pekel, Julian Martin (Arts Project Australia), MARS Gallery, William Mora Galleries, Richard Stringer, Stewart MacFarlane, Mirka Mora, Dani McKenzie, Nigel Sense, Nick Brandt and Source Photographica. Our thanks to online bidding platform, Invaluable, who will waive their five percent commission fee on this auction.
