Victor Murunga
East Africa
Currently serving as Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Manager with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) in Nairobi. He provides strategic leadership for PMEL across East Africa, champions evidence-based conservation planning and commissions independent ecological and socio-economic evaluations.
Previously served within IFAW as the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Officer as part of the Project Management Unit implementing the Sustainable Management of Amboseli and Tsavo (SMAT) Landscapes US dollar 7.8 million Project funded by USAID.
He started his career at Amref Kenya, working with the strategic impact team to develop and manage a Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) system for the enterprise division. He also led Amref to the finals of the 2020 Financial Times/International Finance Corporation (FT/IFC) Transformational Business Awards for organizations demonstrating sustainable social impact.
He later joined Save the Children, and through support from the Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance, he facilitated cash transfers worth US$ 2 million to 3,622 households and the distribution of 7,107 kilograms of seed varieties to 800 farmers. He has managed projects funded by the MasterCard Foundation, CDC, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and USAID.
Victor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography, is an affiliate of ACCA and is certified in Climate Science, Evaluation Surveys, Humanitarian Action, Advanced Excel and Monitoring & Evaluation.
